Hello! I'm Cheston.

Before I became a product designer, I spent 2 years running a cafe.
As a cafe owner, I enjoy brewing coffee and creating a welcoming space where people can gather, share stories, and connect. No two days are alike, and I love the unique energy each day brings.
I aim to foster a community atmosphere in my cafe, where everyone feels safe to be themselves, ask questions, and try new things. Think of it as a cozy, inclusive hub where conversations flow as freely as the coffee. I’ve also had the opportunity to learn different brewing methods from others to make the cafe experience more equitable and enjoyable for all everyone.
Design entered my life without me knowing.
I realized that running a cafe wasn't just about brewing great coffee. It's also about understanding people. I learned to interact with customers, listen to their preferences, and figure out what they loved or didn't.
Over time, I became skilled at coaching my staff in time management, creating efficient workflows, and giving constructive feedback that motivated rather than discouraged. I wanted to build a team that felt supported and empowered, not criticized. It’s all about creating a space where everyone—customers and staff alike—feels valued and heard.
Why Product Design?
At its core, design is about helping people. My experience as a cafe owner has taught me to be empathetic to people’s unique preferences and needs, whether it’s crafting the perfect drink or creating a welcoming atmosphere. My journey in running a cafe has also shown me the importance of purposeful decision-making in design—from the layout of the space to the flow of service. I’m deeply interested in learning more about how to make physical and digital spaces more inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.
